Project Safe Zone is a program that allows gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered, questioning, and allied students to talk to program participants who will listen and be open-minded about the problems these students face on campus.  Many of these students are unaware of places to receive support.  These conversations between the faculty/staff and students are strictly confidential and will help build confidence and increase levels of comfort and safety in students.

Participants in Project Safe Zone have a triangle, like the one above, on their door.  This symbol signifies to students that the office is a sanctuary and that they may speak freely with this person and will not be judged.  This program will further help students resolve some of the issues that may be keeping them from their schoolwork or potentially causing problems that could have serious effects on their lives.  Each program member may suggest places to go for further help or a social setting in which the student may feel comfortable.  A possible suggestion might include a Spectrum Alliance meeting.
